We are pleased to announce that this year's TDF will be a hybrid model, offering in-person, socially distant and virtual options! In 2020, we had to pivot to a completely socially distant/virtual event but still came together for the youth and raised over $160,000!

Please join us again this year as we strive to make an even bigger impact to meet the increasing needs of the youth and families that we serve at Boys & Girls Club of Frederick County. We are committed to doing #whateverittakes for Boys & Girls Club of Frederick County. THANK YOU for your support!

2021 Tour de Frederick Routes
This year's routes explore Frederick County in a new way keeping you close to home even when you feel like you're lost in the beauty of your ride. We had to be particularly careful to provide you with suggested routes that are comfortable to accomplish when unsupported. Because we can't offer our AMAZING rest stops and SAG support, our route designer, Bill Smith, reimagined the century route so that you can stay on roads that provide you with stopping points along the way. We look forward to serving you again next year.

In the meantime, please take care of yourselves and remember the following:
  • Helmets are required.
  • Follow traffic laws.
  • Use proper cycling etiquette.
  • Honor safe social distancing and wear a mask when entering stores.
  • Safety first! Keep yourself, fellow cyclists, and drivers safe.
*Please note that Tour de Frederick routes are created as a suggested route for our TDF 2020 riders. We will not be providing assistance by support vehicles or rest stops during this virtual ride. BGCFC is not responsible for the safety of riders or vehicles while navigating these routes.

The Will Group Foundation Century Ride: 106 miles
The century ride enjoys gently rolling terrain north of Frederick with a combo of the metric century plus the addition of 45 miles that take you through new routes (for our ride) through New MIdway, Union Bridge, and back through Keymar and Rocky Ridge. The route also takes in the beautiful vistas of northern Frederick County where one can see the mountains in the distance to the west beyond lovely farmland and allows you to explore further East than we typically go.

Thermo Fisher Scientific Metric Century: 62 miles
The metric ride shares some of its route with the century, but remains in Maryland.  On route, riders will pass through two of Frederick County‚Äôs three covered bridges and the Legore stone arch bridge (finished in 1900).  The hills you will encounter are mostly gentle and traffic is typically very light in this section of the county.

Wegmans Club Ride: 32 miles
The club ride shares some of its route with the metric and century.  You will enjoy some rolling scenic hills with views of the Catoctin Mountains as you pass farms and ride through historic covered bridges. Enjoy this exact route on video in our Virtual Reality Experience.

McLaughlin Family Chiropractic Family Ride: 11 miles

Frederick History Ride
The Frederick History ride has a long tradition of being offered as part of Tour de Frederick and was a 2014 Maryland Municipal League award winner. This eight mile loop of historic downtown area of Frederick with stops at the Francis Scott Key Memorial, the Barbara Fritchie House, Hood College, the Community Bridge Mural and 17 other historic points of interest is typically led by cycling historians. This year, YOU will be the historian. Allow two hours for completion as you enjoy the history of Frederick in the 'Frederick History Bicycle Loop' provided by Visit Frederick

We'd LOVE to see your pictures from TDF 2020! Upload at least one picture from each of your rides and post how many miles you rode in the caption. You can even tell us WHERE.

We're going to add up the pictures and mileage to see just HOW MANY cumulative rides we created on behalf of the kids!
